Insulated concrete formwork blocks with various fillings were subjected to repeated rounds from an AK47 assault rifle. Glass cullet and 5–20 mm aggregate performed well with no complete perforation after many rounds. The insulated concrete formwork was found to be very effective at minimising spalling from concrete and improving its ballistic resistance.
