The mission of Journal of Management Development is to publish academic research that tests, extends or develops management theory and contributes to enhance the field of management development, practice, and research.

Submission information

Accepted manuscript types and word counts

  • Research Paper — up to 5000 words
  • Book Review — up to 1500 words
  • Brief Report — up to 3000 words
  • Editorial — up to 3000 words

Peer review type

Double anonymous peer review. All submissions are sent to at least 2 independent and anonymous reviewers.

Open access options

This is a hybrid journal. Hybrid journals are subscription journals but offer all authors the option to publish their work open access. If you choose to publish open access you will be required to pay an article processing charge (APC). This journal only accepts manuscripts written in UK or US English.

This Special Issue addresses the research question: How can the development of sustainability leadership among managers create a virtuous cycle for a viable future? We explore how effective leadership can simultaneously advance four interconnected pillars ”Planet, People, Prosperity, and Peace” each essential and mutually re-enforcing for sustainability leadership development.
