About Journal of Organizational Change Management

Aims and scope

Journal of Organizational Change Management (JOCM) publishes empirical research reports and theoretical reflections on the streams of events, which individuals, groups, organizations and networks shape into history.  We are a publishing platform for critical researchers who examine creative and alternative philosophies for understanding organizational change and development. We encourage alternative theoretical frameworks for making sense of changing organizations, including critical theory, post- and meta-modernism, participatory action research and qualitative analyses of change, the rhetoric of discourse and the organizational transformation practices. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches such as organization and ecology, consumption and production, sustainability and risks, creativity and responsibility.

JOCM publishes papers which offer a detailed analysis and discussion on the theories, philosophies and practices which underpin successful organizational change, thus building a more promising future for the societies and organizations of tomorrow. We try to comprehend the profoundly intertwined data bases in the light of the knowledge epistemologies and within the struggle for the negotiated truth. JOCM welcomes articles which tie into, or disagree with, themes from the previous issues. We are also welcoming special issues, which broaden the scope of JOCM.

Coverage includes, but is not limited to:

  • The analyses of the strategies dealing with change
  • The investigation of the antecedents and contexts of organizational transformations
  • The role of leadership in tackling change and dynamic environments
  • Technology-related organizational transformations (e.g. digital futures, AI)
  • Critical evaluations of responsibility for change implementation
  • Fair design of transformations of organizational realities
