About Journal of Property Investment & Finance

Aims and scope

The Journal of Property Investment & Finance (JPIF) welcomes papers relating to ALL property types that contribute to investment. This would include all commercial and residential income producing properties in a multi asset portfolio; the valuation of all property types; the analysis of property markets and the impact of sustainability initiatives. The aim of the journal is to inform and encourage debate internationally between academics and practising professionals in all aspects of real estate research and practice.

JPIF seeks to publish well-written, readable articles of intellectual rigour with a theoretical and practical relevance to the real estate profession; address subjects of major interest and practical importance to the real estate professions; improve property appraisal, finance and investment skills by promoting awareness of new theories, applications and related concepts and their implications for market conditions; assist the property professional in keeping up-to-date with developments in real estate law, internet sites and recent publications; and provide a cumulative source of reference material.

JPIF is a real estate journal that publishes papers concentrating on income producing properties. JPIF does not publish papers relating to housing policy, owner-occupied residential property (apart from valuation issues), agriculture and forestry, general (non-property) investments or anything that is not related to real estate.

JPIF publishes papers on practice and methods in the UK, continental Western Europe, emerging markets of Eastern Europe, China, Australasia, Africa and the USA, in the following areas:

  • Academic papers on the latest research, thinking and developments
  • Education briefings - articles aimed at students and practitioners on property investment
  • Practice briefings - a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences

Whilst JPIF encourages the submission of papers looking at the application in practice of Automated Valuation Models (AVMs), we do not accept papers that concentrate upon the mathematical/computing development of such programs. AVM papers need to be Real Estate focussed and not Expert System papers that happen to use real estate databases.

The Journal or Property Investment & Finance encourages the submission of all relevant papers. However, there are a number of tips that will greatly increase your chances of a successful submission. These can be found at  https://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/journal/jpif/notes-how-get-published
