CrossRail: External influences and the way forward

The first six papers have described many of the technical aspects of CrossRail, from the early feasibility work to the detailed design. The final paper, after outlining the conclusion of the Private Bill process and CrossRail's current status within the Government's Transport Strategy, deals with the political scene within which the technical work was undertaken, including many of the lessons learnt. Finally, possible ways of taking CrossRail forward as a Private Finance Initiative project are suggested.
