DaoCloud, a cloud-native leader, employs a hybrid business model that combines open-source contributions with commercial offering such as subscription-based software, professional services, training, and cloud-native solutions. By actively participating in open-source communities, DaoCloud gains technical credibility, talent attraction, cost efficiency, and brand authority, essential for competing globally. As the company prepares for an IPO, CHRO Grace Wang must address systemic issues from prior incentive phases, including overemphasis on metrics, misalignment with open-source values, and unclear career paths. Stakeholder interviews reveal tensions between technical passion and transactional rewards, marginalization of non-R&D roles, and talent attrition. How can Grace rapidly design an optimized performance, incentive, and career framework that reconciles open-source stewardship with commercial and IPO objectives?
