A description is given of a community based small business advisement center model developed by the American Management Associations and the United States Department of Labor. The model, reflecting strong orientations from the fields of organization development and instructional technology, is presently being implemented and tested. This model recommends solutions to problems presently facing advisement centers, particularly with regard to effectively and efficiently handling large numbers of start‐up clients.
