Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to compare the proposed approach with existing methods, which can effectively reduce computational costs while ensuring calculation accuracy.

Design/methodology/approach

Based on the Gaussian process and the improved sequential importance sampling, a novel reliability analysis method is proposed. This work conducts efficient reliability for the overall motion mechanism.

Findings

The analysis results show that the probability of upper lock failure is significantly higher than other failure modes.

Originality/value

The analysis results can provide strong support for the key manufacturing improvement of the landing gear in the future.
