The Technological Deficit of Spain

In the technological balance of payments, annual flow of revenues (exports) and payments (imports) between a country and the remainder of the world is recorded as Technical Assistance and Royalties. By technical assistance is meant services provided, generally by engineers and technicians, for the design, setting up and operation of industrial plants and for the professional training of the workforce. The royalties are the payments or revenues by way of use, enjoyment and assignment of a patent.
