GM labelling on the menu

Regulations for all restaurants, pubs, canteens and catering premises to identify any GM ingredients in the foods they sell came into force at the end of September 1999. The Regulations will require all of the UK's 500,000 catering premises to show which dishes on their menus contain GM soya or maize and ensure that staff are able to inform customers regarding which dishes are affected. Caterers will be required to meet the Regulations or face fines up to £5,000 for non-compliance.
