New president of BCF

Peter A. Rieck, chief executive of specialist coatings producer, Sonneborn& Rieck has been elected president of the British Coatings Federation, the trade association which represents the UK's £2.2 billion paint, coatings and printing inks manufacturing industries.

Peter is the fourth generation of the family to be the company chief executive and was educated at Charterhouse. He speaks French, German and (a little) Italian, all of which helps with his life in international business. He started on the shop floor, later working for other companies in Australia and Germany, before completing business studies and returning to the family firm.

Sonneborn & Rieck is an independent, privately-owned producer of high-tech coatings for plastics, metal and wood. It is a supplier to the automotive, teletronics, furniture and woodworking industries. The company has five plants in the UK, marketing worldwide with a turnover approaching £20 million.
