Zeneca Resins SA achieves Class A status in MRPII
Recently Manel Castells, general manager of Zeneca Resins SA at Parets (Spain) was given the so-called Class A award by Gilles Lauga, European consultant from the Oliver Wight Europe organisation. Zeneca Resins SA obtained this award for having achieved the highest possible level in the system of manufacturing resources planning. Zeneca Resins is one of the first companies in Spain to obtain this status.
This system enables the company to achieve a high level of customer service and productivity, while reducing at the same time cost and stock levels. Companies achieving the Class A status, have a capability to deliver products, at a minimum 95 out of 100 cases, with the right quality, to the right place, at the time required by the customer.
Class A is a logical step in quality improvement and controlling processes, and follows the ISO 9001 certification achieved in November 1993. It means that all employees are intensively involved in the operational processes and contribute to open communication and commitment of the organisation.
Some five years ago Zeneca Resins energetically started this improvement programme Europe-wide and in July 1995 Resins SA joined the wall-to-wall implementation of SAP R2 software to support its business processes. General manager Manel Castells says: "We now have achieved Class A status as a milestone for further improvement. All Resins employees in Spain deserve recognition for this major result!"
With the achievement of Class A in Parets, all European Zeneca Resins sites and businesses are now on Class A level.
