Thermo LabSystems recently announced that it had acquired Galactic Industries Corporation, the spectroscopy software solutions company. Galactic Industries has now become Thermo Galactic and joins Thermo LabSystems as part of the Informatics Division of Thermo Electron's Life Sciences Sector.

The newly-formed Thermo Galactic will continue to develop its successful desktop spectroscopy solutions and to service customers from its US offices in Salem, New Hampshire. Galactic's products are used worldwide. Building on Galactic technology, Thermo LabSystems will be introducing the new eRecordManager™ solution, which will offer full analytical data management,reporting and archival functionalities. eRecordManager will feature full application support for compliance with FDA's Ruling 21 CFR Part 11.
