Speaking to and theorizing about the dead in a postmodern world: an autoethnographic possibility?

Dr Blake Paxton earned his PhD in Communication from the University of South Florida and his BA from Saint Louis University. Paxton has taught several undergraduate courses including Interpersonal Communication, Introduction to Communication as Performance, and Communicating Grief, Loss, and Illness. He is a strong proponent for utilizing qualitative and ethnographic methods in communication research. Professor Paxton’s areas of interest involve family communication, health communication, women’s and gender studies, and the complex dynamics of writing and sharing personal narrative in educational settings.
