Preserving and Digitizing Plant Images

The Missouri Botanical Garden’s Plant Images Database is a project, sponsored by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, to link plant images to associated data in the TROPICOS nomenclature database (http://mobot.mobot.org/W3T/Search/vast.html). The purpose of the project was to create a large repository of plant images to which other botanical organizations can contribute. This two‐year project was completed in November of 2000.
