Artlex Art Dictionary

Artlex Art Dictionary is one of the older free reference works on the web, originating in August 1996. It made its first appearance on the Wayback Machine (www.archive.org) in November 1998 and was regularly archived through 2005. From November 1998 to the last update in September 2006, Artlex has grown from 2,800 to 3,600 art related terms. The standard web design and layout has changed very little. It uses frames with alphabetical index on the left and content changing on the right. Current fonts appear to be larger than earlier versions. There are banner advertisements on the site....
