Encyclopedia of British Writers, 1800 to the Present (2nd edition)

This carefully packaged new reference set is a revised and expanded edition of the same publisher's Encyclopedia of British Writers: 19th and 20th Centuries, which appeared in 2003 (RR 2004/138). Each volume is a self‐contained unit. The first deals with writers active during the nineteenth century, thus embracing the Romantics and Victorians. The second, longer, volume focuses on writing from 1900 to the present, taking on both modernism and the enormous variety of postmodernist and contemporary writing.
