Peter Greenaway Artworks ’63‐’98

Peter Greenaway is most famous as a film‐maker, from work for the Central Office of Information to his best‐known films The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Prospero’s Books and The Pillow Book, as well as numerous others listed in the “filmography” as one of the appendices to this book. But, as is much in evidence in his films, he is also notable for his painting and draughtsmanship which are central to his work. This book, the first major study of his artwork, accompanied a major touring retrospective exhibition of his graphic work and paintings.
