Scottish Art

I have reflected elsewhere on the concept of a major series becoming in its totality a reference work. I have never seen gathered together a complete set of all the titles ever published in the World of Art series, but it must resemble a multi‐volume encyclopaedia: not to rival Grove since it has not been planned that way, but for the sheer weight of number of its volumes and the breadth of coverage of its subjects it will be a formidable collection.
