Cornell University Library Witchcraft Collection

The Cornell University Library Witchcraft Collection contains over 3,000 titles documenting the history of the Inquisition and the persecution of witchcraft. The collection, the majority of which was acquired in the 1880s through the efforts of Cornell's first president, focuses on the history of superstition and the persecution of witchcraft in Europe. This focus is presented not of witchcraft as folklore or anthropology, but rather in its relation to theology and religious heresy.
