The Salem Witch Trials Documentary Archive and Transcription Project (SWTDA) is an excellent example of the continued advance and added value of digital libraries. Begun in 1999, it has become the most extensive electronic collection of primary materials on the Salem witch trials and on seventeenth‐century New England.
