World of Sports Science

I am not sure whether the editors of this reference work would be pleased or offended to have it referred to as an encyclopedia of sport. I do not find the word mentioned anywhere in the text yet it is structured as one might expect an encyclopedia to be with an A‐Z sequence of entries on key topics/personalities in the field of sport science. If one were to regard an encyclopedia as an authoritative source of knowledge and information on a particular subject then this it is certainly not.
