Sports in America: From Colonial Times to the Twenty‐first Century

Yet another encyclopaedia of sport! I have overseen several and reviewed a lot more in recent years (including in this journal). Was there a need and market for this one? Whilst there are inevitable overlaps with the Encyclopedia of Women and Sport in America (Oglesby et al., 1998), the Berkshire Encyclopedia of World Sport (Levinson and Christensen, 2005) (RR 2006/105), etc., it most definitely has a different focus most of which is unique and original.
