Annual Abstract of Statistics No 144 (2008 edition)

This is an old friend that I had lost touch with. For the first 15 years of my career as an information scientist I regularly used the Annual Abstract of Statistics, together with more detailed statistical publications produced by government departments. And for a further ten years I still occasionally used it. The content of the annual is much as I remember it, but I think the order in which data is presented has changed. The numbers certainly have.
