This is the sixth edition of Oxford's formerly named Concise Dictionary of Physics, first published in 1985. The text has been updated since the last edition in 2005, with an additional 200 or so entries. It opens with a short preface before jumping directly into the almost 4,000 alphabetically arranged entries. As a desktop reference work the text is the perfect size for a rapid thumb driven search for definitions, and the entries are for the most part concise as might be expected.
