In 2002, the reviewer attended a colloquium, The Socio‐Economic Legacy of Slavery at the University of California, Santa Barbara, throughout the day many scholars referenced The Trans‐Atlantic Slave Trade: A Database on CD‐ROM This database was first published in 1999, by Cambridge University Press (Eltis et al., 1999). Since that time the Trans‐Atlantic Slave Trade Database, has evolved into an open access resource.
