Public Domain Information Project

The Public Domain Information Project (PD INFO) was created by Marji Hazen in 1986 as a collection of folk songs in the public domain. PD INFO was taken over by Haven Sound in 1999 when Ms Hazen decided that the complexities of the GATT Treaty (www.wto.org/english/docs_e/legal_e/06-gatt_e.htm) and the Sonny Bono Copyright Extension Act (www.copyright.gov/legislation/s505.pdf) made research and verification of copyright information for musical pieces too difficult to maintain the site.
