Cambridge Encyclopedia of Darwin and Evolutionary Thought (RR 2014/016). A single volume work providing 63 lengthy entries on evolution, Darwins life and work and the impact of evolutionary theory internationally. One of a number of recent reference works on Darwin and evolutionary theory, the most notable of which is probably the two-volume All Things Darwin (RR 2008/271).
Drama Online (RR 2014/026). Major new database from Bloomsbury developed with Faber & Faber, partly based on the publishers publications in the area of drama and theatre, providing scripts of classic plays, critical interpretations and manuals, reference materials and production stills from the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Directory of Museums, Galleries and Buildings of Historic Interest in the United Kingdom (RR 2014/001). Fifth edition of this title from Routledge published approximately every five years, now the only directory covering UK museums with art galleries and historic buildings.
Encyclopedia of Ancient History (RR 2014/037). A new Wiley-Blackwell encyclopedia that, although also available in six printed volumes, is specifically designed and launched as a primarily online product to which more content can be added. Approximately 1,400 articles from over 1,800 contributors are available at the time of review. The obvious comparison is with the online version of Brills New Pauly (RR 2003/271) and (RR 2007/195).
Encyclopedia of Environmetrics (RR 2014/019). Six volume second edition (also available online) of a title first published in 2001 that is the main reference in the relatively new field of environmetrics.
Encyclopedia of Life (RR 2014/021). Free online wiki-type encyclopedia launched in 2008 intended to document the 1.9 million known living species. This review is prompted by the new platform (EOLv2) intended to make the resource more accessible and adaptable for personal use. The project is still ongoing having approximately 1.3 million species pages with 1.8 million images at the time of review.
March of Time (RR 2014/036). Alexander Street Press product providing access to the March of Time newsreel series from Time Inc. that ran in cinemas from 1935 to 1951 and on television until 1967, together with some topic specific series.
Oxford Companion to Modern Poetry (RR 2014/015). A revised version of one of the main reference sources in poetry originally published in 1994 as The Oxford Companion to Twentieth Century Poetry. This (second) edition covers the years since 1910 and gives greater emphasis to women and avant-garde poets.
