Purpose – To explain the secrets of long-term success in bank leadership. Design/methodology/approach – Focuses on the big idea as the source of differentiation from other banks, quoting Arkadi Kuhlmann of ING Direct. Describes the hierarchy of engagement, and the example of PayPal’s Scott Thompson. Introduces the concept of “humbition”. Findings– Finds that the best leaders find the hidden genius in their organization and use the collective genius outside the organization to generate the powerful ideas that will power it.
