The future of UK research: Is UK based engineering research on the brink of collapse?

Engineering research critically contributes to the creation of wealth, health and well‐being and underpins innumerable developments that enhance the quality of life. It is therefore vitally important that the UK maintains and improves its capacity to carry out world‐class engineering research. However, past years have witnessed significant changes within the UK engineering research community, and not all have been for the better.
