Poses five fundamental questions that all environmentally proactive leaders and managers involved in logistics operations and supply chain management (SCM)must ask about the degree to which their supply chains may be regarded as being environmentally friendly (“green”), namely: what are the tangible and intangible benefits of moving towards a green supply chain; what are the direct and indirect costs; what influence do logistics companies have over their suppliers, associate suppliers, and customers, especially the party with the most power in the supply chain, that would allow them to work together and move towards a green supply chain; how will logistics companies communicate and measure their progress towards the green supply chain to the key stakeholders, and how will logistics companies engage them; and what barriers to green supply chains can be expected and how can these be overcome.Article type: ViewpointISSN: 1466-836XReference: 41AE410
