Aims and scope
Strategy & Leadership (SL) is a leading international journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of strategy and leadership. In promoting the linkages and dialogue between theory and practice, SL welcomes work that emphasize new thinking, spanning various levels of analysis on a wide range of strategy and leadership related topics. SL is pluralistic in orientation and accepts conceptual and empirical (quantitative or qualitative) work on a broad range of strategy and leadership related topics, including studies that review, assess, and synthesise the current state of knowledge in the areas of leadership and strategy. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, strategic foresight, ambidexterity, creativity, second-order innovation management, managerial cognition and meaning-making, digital transformation, entrepreneurial leadership, leadership approaches and paradigms, leadership development, leadership in contexts marked by weak institutions and underdeveloped markets, and enterprise development.
Preferred article length is approximately 7,000 to 9,000 words. SL operates a double anonymized review process. All submissions will be initially assessed by our editors to determine their suitability for publication in SL. Papers deemed suitable are typically sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess their scientific quality. The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles, and the Editor's decision is final.
