Keywords IPC, APEX
IPC SMEMA Council has announced that two technical paper awards will be given at APEX, 12-16 March 2000, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California, USA. One award will be given to the author(s) for the best overall paper at the conference, and a second will be awarded to the author(s) of the best international paper.
"We want APEX to be the premier North American assembly event with strong international participation",says APEX conference director Martin Barton. "Introducing an award for authors outside the USA is one small way in helping us achieve our goal." Recipients of the "Best conference paper" and "Best international paper" awards will receive$1,000 and a recognition plaque. Co-authors share the cash award. Papers at the APEX technical conference will address issues dealing with:
Design and application.
Materials.
Assembly processes.
Assembly equipment.
SMT manufacturing.
Advanced packaging.
EMS (contract manufacturing) issues.
The papers will describe significant results from experiments, emphasize new techniques, discuss trends of interest, and contain technical and/or appropriate test data. Papers will also focus on the technology and will be non-commercial in nature.
