Strong support for Eastern Europe

Keyword GenRad

GenRad has further strengthened its team in Eastern Europe in response to the phenomenal growth of the electronics manufacturing industry in the area. The company recently announced the appointment of Manfred Philipigh to Regional Manager for Eastern Europe, and announced that three new branch offices have also been opened, giving the company a strong presence in the region.

"It is my responsibility to foster the relationship with existing customers in this region and also to grow the GenRad business into new accounts,"said Philipigh, "Many CEM's and OEM's are moving production facilities to the region, to benefit from low labour costs. We see this region as a strategic growth region for the future, being close to Central Europe. GenRad is the first ATE vendor serving the electronics manufacturing industry, providing local service and support to our customers in this region."

The new branch offices are in Budakeszi/Budapest (Hungary), Blansko/Brno(Czech Republic) and Timisoara (Romania). Each office has appointed new support engineers. Philipigh stressed the need for local support; "All our engineers are trained on GenRad Hardware and Application Software to be able to provide first class support to our customers. We can provide local spare parts, which is extremely important in countries where logistics are challenging. It also guarantees shortest response time and a maximum utilization of GenRad equipment used by our customers. Most importantly our support engineers can provide customer training in local languages."
