Keyword: Automation
Manufacturing applications specialist, Automation, has announced new sales and customer support appointments as part of its long-term re-structuring plans.
Headed by Andrew Clarke, sales director at Automation, the latest additions to the team comprise a new sales manager, two sales engineers and two additional customer support engineers. Andrew Clarke explained the reasons for these new appointments as follows:
Automation has always prided itself on providing outstanding process support to its customers. As part of our extensive restructuring plans, which began with the arrival of Martin Wyeth as Managing Director, we plan a number of new product developments to provide our customers with the very latest innovations in technology. To support these products and developments, we are expanding our sales and customer support team with industry trained individuals who offer extensive "hands on" electronics experience.
The team appointments comprise Geoff Pickles as sales manager for the northern half of the UK; Geoff will work alongside Ralph Heath, who covers the southern half of the country. Geoff previously worked as area sales manager with Electrovert/Speedline, providing sales and technical support on wave-soldering,reflow, aqueous cleaning and stencil printing. Geoff's 28 years of providing equipment and process solutions within the engineering and electronics assembly industry ideally complement Automation's product range.
Robert Scrivens and Simon Harrison have joined as sales engineers specialising in Automation's Qualitek range of soldering products. Robert will serve the Midlands and southern half of the UK and has some ten years'experience of the wave and reflow soldering process. Simon, based in Scotland, brings 20 years' electronics assembly experience, comprising Pb-free reflow optimisation, laser soldering, BGA assembly inspection repair and rework and pump head printing development.
Finally, Martin Guest and David Ryder will provide customer support for installations in the Midlands and South of England. Martin Guest was previously with Celestica, where he gained maintenance experience of an entire automated line, whilst David Ryder has 12 years' electronics experience gained at Sanyo and Tyco as Team Leader Technician SMA.
