The Alpha Analytical Services Group, a business unit within the Electronics Division of The Cookson Group plc, now offers to the wider spectrum of industries a comprehensive industrial analytical service designed to support existing production processes,to help develop new products and to help solve contamination and failure issues,as well as offering materials testing and consultancy services.
The service is available through the company's UK analytical laboratories in Croydon. Similar facilities are also established in Jersey City serving the Americas and Hong Kong for the Far Eastern markets.
Working closely with customers' own technical personnel, the specialist analytical group can provide confidential analytical support, using a wide range of analytical techniques and instrumentation.
The UK laboratory is equipped with a complex selection of equipment such as scanning electron microscopy with x-ray analysis; fourier transform infra red spectroscopy,thermal analysis, ion and gas chromatography and autotitration techniques, in addition to automated precision cutting and grinding equipment for preparing sectioned samples for microscopy.
In addition to offering its services to the electronics industries Alpha will be providing analytical support to companies in ceramics, plastics, paints and adhesives manufacture,and sectors within the metals industries.
All research and results are subject to strict levels of confidentiality, and intellectual property resulting from the analysis remains with the customer.
