MYDATA automation releases an exchangeable tool kit for the HYDRA Speedmount®. It increases its component range placements from 0402 to SOICs on 16mm tape.
With the new exchangable tool kit, the HYDRA Speedmount picks at speeds of 14,400 CPH from 8mm tape. When picking components from 12mm and 16mm tape, four components are picked at a time, reaching a maximum placement speed of 10,000 CPH. The new capability is made possible by the MYDATA Operating System, TPSys® 2.0. It allows the HYDRA head to pick a wider range of components. The exchangeable tool lit includes the new tool sets as part of kit in order to pick the different components.
This product is made simple by using different color-coded tools for the different types of components that it can place. Simply snap the color-coded tools onto the tool tubes when different component sizes are to be mounted. Changing tool is easy,simply pull it off the tool tube and push a new one on in its place. Due to this design, it is very easy for the operator to inspect the tools and replace them if necessary. The tool configuration of the HYDRA head is taken into account by TPSys when the assembly process is being optimized.
