New Loctite adhesive in Pro Flow cartridge eliminates waste

Loctite Corporation has introduced innovative new packaging for Loctite Chipbonder 3616, a single-component, rapid heat-cure epoxy surface mount adhesive used in stencil printing applications (Plate 5). This Loctite adhesive is now available in the DEK Pro Flow Cartridge, protective packaging designed exclusively for use on DEK stencil printing machinery. The sealed Pro Flow Cartridge maintains environmental control by preventing exposure of Loctite Chipbonder 3616 to the atmosphere, ensuring that the adhesive will not pick up moisture from the air. This maximises the open time of the adhesive. The sealed cartridge also eliminates the need for manual cleaning, since no adhesive is left behind on the stencil. The Pro Flow system operates six times faster than traditional screen printing methods involving squeegees, and uses traditional stencil and adhesive products. Loctite Chipbonder 3616 provides excellent dot size and shape control. The product is designed for bonding surface mount devices to printed circuit boards prior to wave soldering, is suited for printing a range of dot heights with one stencil thickness, and excels in applications where high wet strength characteristics and high print speeds are required.
