On the opening day of Productronica in November 2003, DEK unveiled the Horizon 03 (ELA), the new automated screen printer with refined ergonomics and high-end features to maximise productivity.

The Horizon 03 (ELA) introduces a new, integrated keyboard that falls easily to hand, even on the busiest shop floor. It combines with track-ball input, an advanced TFT flat-screen monitor and a graphical user interface featuring simple step-through menus, to maximise ergonomic efficiency. The 15 in. TFT monitor is easily read at wide viewing angles and adds to the machine’s slimline appearance.

The Horizon 03 (ELA) feature set delivers exceptional process control automation during product changeovers, to maximise productivity in high mix environments. Automatic rail width adjustment, advanced tooling options including FormFlex™, GridLok™ and custom tooling, as well as connectivity tools that enable off-line editing, speed up changeovers. Automatic board handling linked to the new LED graphite camera system delivers automatic alignment to further reduce operator intervention, and underscreen cleaning is activated automatically. Programmable 2D paste-on-pad print and stencil blockage verification, remote process monitoring and optional ProFlow®DirEKt Imaging further enhance process speed and repeatability. Horizon 03 (ELA)runs an enterprise-level Microsoft® Windows®operating system, whose native applications enable extensive networking via the machine’s built-in 10/100 Ethernet network interface card.
