All work environments, give rise to disputes, complaints and grievances on the part of their employees. There are two traditional methods for resolving these conflicts. However, there is a non‐traditional conflict resolution method that is gaining popular acceptance: peer review is a process for resolving day‐to‐day work‐related grievances in a fair, just manner without involving outside parties or upper management. The employee has the opportunity to appeal his or her case to a panel of peers, whose decision is binding on the employee as well as the company. Allowing the employee’s peers to be involved in the grievance resolution process is unbiased and fair. Employees who have participated in peer review find that it was a positive learning experience.
