Has there been any difficulty with explosive reaction between H2 and UFg?

DR W. EHRFELD: More sophisticated concepts utilize, for example, the kinetic energy of the heavy fraction of a first nozzle system for an additional separation in a second nozzle which is directly connected to the first system. The light fraction of the second nozzle, which has the same isotopic composition as the feed gas, can be recirculated within the separative stage. By that means a markedly higher stage separation factor than with the conventional nozzle can be realized. Because no additional compression work has to be done when utilizing such a two-stage nozzle system, also a reduction of the specific energy consumption is achieved.
