Results obtained on study of debris, originated at molten tin/water interaction, and applicability of their characteristics to investigations of molten fuel/sodium interaction are considered. Calculational method of the sodium flow critical velocity of fuel debris transport is reported. Critical velocity experimental values are compared with calculated ones, obtained when using the given me
thod and literature relationships.
In the investigation of molten fuel/sodium interaction (PCI) simulated substances,e.g. molten metals and water, often are used. One of fundamental criteria of applicability of laws, established for the simulated substances to the processes taking place in the system Na/U02, is dimension conformity of debris particles originated at theiraal fragmentation of the sub stances under consideration. Specifically it is of interest to evaluate the characteristics of debris, formed in the system Sn/H^O, which is widely used for PCI simulation (ref. 1,2).
