Antebellum Espionage: Black Women Abolitionists

The purpose of this lesson plan is to provide a historical perspective of Black women Abolitionists and their revolutionary actions during antebellum slavery. To illuminate this perspective in history, we will use the excerpts from the WGN scripted series Underground Season 2 created by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski. Underground is an American television period drama set in Antebellum Georgia; the series’ central characters are enslaved Africans and abolitionists.
