This chapter describes how a formal 2-year collaboration between a university and a local prekindergarten to fifth grade elementary school (Northside Elementary) evolved in the context of supportive state and community organizations. The collaboration aimed to help all partners understand and implement more trauma-informed care (TIC) practices. Northside Elementary partnered with the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse for 2 years; however, the collaboration extended beyond the gates of either institution and included state and community agencies. After a successful two years, a third year was added to the collaboration.
