Sarawak, on the Island of Borneo, is home to over 40 different community groups with unique heritage of arts and crafts. The knowledge pertaining to their practices have long been passed down through generations. In every handcrafted piece lies not just artistry but an opportunity and space to bridge gaps and reduce inequalities. In many parts of the world, especially in rural communities, traditional craftsmanship is often overlooked and requires preservation efforts (Yang et al., 2018). This phenomenon leaves artisans with limited access to markets, education and fair economic opportunities (Thounaojam & Ojha, 2025). Reducing inequalities is not just about economic fairness but also about social inclusion and cultural preservation. These crafts are not only cultural assets but also familial legacies where skills and knowledge are often passed down from grandparents to grandchildren, embedding values and identity through generations.*
