Several Canadian organisations have taken leadership roles in developing initiatives supporting the career aspirations of managerial and professional women. Some of these organisations have achieved high profiles and have made their efforts public and available to other organisations to consider; others have chosen a less high profile route. Still other Canadian organisations have interests in creating a level playing field for women and other designated groups but they do not know how to proceed. These organisations would be helped by information describing the initiatives of these leading organisations, what they have learned, what worked well or not so well, and the obstacles that were encountered. The development of such case studies, coupled with dialogue among managers of organisations is an important element in bringing about organisational changes.
