E-learning academy unlocks training potential at Atmel

Atmel Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of capacitive touch solutions and microcontrollers, has launched its own e-learning academy.

Atmel has implemented Learning Gateway, a learning-management system from e-learning company Edvantage, which offers selected product courses to meet identified needs in product training across the Atmel business for employees,distribution and sales representatives.

Atmel is also using Learning Gateway for accessing all sales, product and marketing training resources throughout the organization. In addition, internal product and sales training e-learning programs are being developed using the Edvantage authoring tool, CourseBuilder.

“With the implementation of the Atmel Academy, employees throughout Atmel can access product training faster and more efficiently than before. In addition we are providing just-in-time training to our sales force, maximizing our product launches,” said Alf-Egil Bogen, Amtel vice-president of corporate marketing.

“Atmel, with is highly skilled internal training team, has implemented new ways of using Learning Gateway and CourseBuilder, which it will benefit from in the years to come,” said Thomas Berglund, Edvantage chief executive.
