Neil Martin, 37, former head of semiconductor technology strategy at Scottish Enterprise has been appointed chief executive of Compound Semiconductor Technologies Ltd (CST).
Neil's earlier career included senior posts with Motorola and Digital where his responsibilities included European marketing, design and product development. He studied at the University of Strathclyde where he gained a degree in electrical and electronic engineering.
During his period with Scottish Enterprise, Neil was responsible for business development within the micro-electronic industry. He also led and developed the clusters strategy for that industry, a strategy for economic development that is now being copied throughout the UK.
