Datacon's 4-million-euro investment: new building ready after just 10 months

With the official opening on 18 May 2001, Datacon Semiconductor Equipment GmbH, based in Radfeld, Austria, successfully completed its second major company expansion in three years.

March last year saw the first cut of the spade for construction of the new company building. The expansion had become necessary after staff numbers increased from 130 in March 1999 to 210 in January 2000.

But the extra 4,300m² in the new premises will not be the final word in the long term, because Datacon's dynamic team has already grown to 300– and counting, fast. The last free offices will soon be occupied.

"With 1500m² of new production space, 500m² more for R&D and the opening of a separate EMC test room, we are ideally equipped for the future. We can now respond more flexibly to the dynamic market conditions", says Datacon's Managing Director Helmut Rutterschmidt.

"I would like to invite anyone who is interested in taking a closer look at a leading high-tech company at the heart of Europe to our Open House on 20 May."
