This substantial, well‐made, attractively illustrated volume is “the first commentary in book form on the processes of change in Wales in the late twentieth century”. It is a collective attempt to analyse social upheaval and to venture a realistic prognosis of the future awaiting the people of Wales. A total of 22 academic specialists, based in Welsh institutions, address 18 salient topics soberly, realistically, and with patent authority.
